The ISMF Secretariat is currently run jointly by the North West Coastal Forum and the School of Environmental Sciences, University of Liverpool.
Our Chairman of the Forum from 2015 to present is Senator Gerry Horkan. Before his election to the Seanad Éireann (Senate) in 2016, Gerry was a councillor for Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown Council.
A Steering Group made up of representatives from each administration and different sectors (e.g. fisheries, conservation, academia, planning authorities) will oversee the work of the Forum, which is guided by an annual Work Programme.
All stakeholders with an interest in the work of the Irish Sea Maritime Forum are welcome to attend the Biennial Conference, which presents the work done by the ISMF and latest developments in relation to marine spatial planning for the Irish Sea. The first Conference was held in Belfast in 2012. To find out more about upcoming, as well as past events, you can visit our events section.
